Quince Orchard snuffed out a two-game losing streak with a 25-3, 5-inning win over BCC. The Barons' pitchers struggled in this contest, allowing 11 walks and 19 hits, 8 of which were extra-base hits. Emily Maxwell, Sydney Maxwell, and Brooke Beisner each had 2 doubles; Natalya Sizdahkhani hit a triple and a double among her 4 hits. The Cougars pitching struggled at the outset, allowing 3 runs in the top of the 1st, but the team responded decisively in the bottom of the inning when the first 12 batters each reached base and scored. The Barons held QO to 3-up, 3-down in the 2nd, but QO scored 10 more in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th to wrap up the scoring. Defensive highlights included two double-plays: the first, a 5U-3 where Megan Dougherty fielded and got the out at 3rd before firing to Leanne Youstra at 1st. The second was an impressive 5-3-2 in the 3rd inning following a leadoff triple. The second batter hit a grounder to Megan who, with the runner behind her at 3rd, fielded and threw immediately to 1st. Leanne tapped the bag for the first out, and fired over to Natalya to nab the runner from 3rd coming home.
